The above picture shows what you can get for NZ$40:
- a loaf of bread
- 2 bags of onions
- 6 assorted muffins
- a bag of tomatoes
- 500g minced pork
- 1kg NZ rose apples
- 35g of mesclun salad
- 200g brie
- 2 boxes of biscuits
- Philips energysaver light bulbs
… I remember not-so-long ago, we could feed our entire family for a week on $40. How much does $40 get you these days? Share your thoughts, it’s a grittier life for all.
