——————-
My name is William. I write songs. I write medical literature. I write film, theatre, restaurant, church and music reviews. I write uncategorised commentary. I write journal entries.
I currently work in the field of medical publishing as a staff writer for an international medical communications agency. I’m experienced at writing copy for a variety of print and electronic media, and am happy to discuss freelance writing in my areas of expertise and/or interest. In 2008 I was offered a journalism internship at the Sunday Star Times (I declined).
I’m a recovering academic, holding both Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of Auckland, during which time I’ve studied with composers such as John Elmsly, Eve de-Castro Robinson, Alison Grant, Samuel Holloway and Leonie Holmes; and researchers such as Winston Byblow, Nicholas Gant, Uwe Kersting and Heather Smith.
I’ve also had experience working in a diverse range of settings, including the hospitality industry, a council-run sport and recreation centre, and as an itinerant teacher at a music school.
